Sustainability

Every day, over one million trees are cut down to make traditional toilet paper. We’re not so keen on killing trees just to make TP, which is why these rolls are made with 100% bamboo fibres.
Unlike trees, bamboo grows incredibly quickly, making it a sustainable alternative for loo rolls. We source ours from cooperative plantations made up of lots of small farms. Woo, team work!

Should I choose bamboo or recycled paper?

Ah, one of life’s biggest questions. The answer? It depends. Both are planet conscious, super long and look great in your bathroom – but there are some differences to keep in mind:

Frequently Asked Questions about 100% Bamboo Toilet Paper

How do you whiten your bamboo TP?

Toilet paper is often whitened using a harsh chemical called chlorine (aka bleach). But because we care about your cheeks, we use milder whitening methods that are free from nasty dioxins. (Trust us, you don't want those near your bum.) Rumour has it, people get uncomfy when their TP isn’t sparkly white. So by making sure our rolls look the part, we can appeal to more bums and maximise our donations. Bambooyah!

Why wrap rolls individually?

Long story short, we have to wrap our rolls in something to keep them moisture-free and hygienic. We could wrap 6 rolls together (that’s the limit), but we’d need to use a much thicker paper. The net paper used (by weight) to wrap a 6 pack in heavy duty paper vs. six individual rolls in the thin tissue paper we use is effectively the same. It’s either this or plastic — and we hate plastic.

Will this work with septic tanks and composting toilets?

Yep, our rolls shouldn’t cause any blockages with normal use. (Just don’t go sticking a whole roll down there at once, okay?) If your septic system is particularly sensitive to bamboo products, you might want to try our 100% Recycled Toilet Paper, which is likely to break down faster.
